It’s time to enter our Sumo arena. Your fatsuits are ready, Japanese battle music sounds from the speakers and the incense can be smelled from afar.
The Sumo ref will go over some rules with you first. In fact, almost everything is allowed during this game of Sumo, but tips on how best to get your opponent out of the ring is always nice!
As soon as the first two of your group are chosen, the battle is about to begin. The gong is loud and you are asked to stand directly in front of each other inside of the ring.
Sumo wrestling starts with a sip of sake, which is poured into your mouth with a spoon by your team members.
After this, you will drive the evil spirits out of the ring. You do this by scattering rice on the mat and stamping hard with your feet.
This whole ritual can be used again and again and is a good way to get your opponent out of his concentration.
Whoever pushed his opponent out of the ring wins. Having two shoulders on the ground is also an immediate loss!
The winner can make a victory dive on the loser!
Sumo wrestling can be played from 8 people. If your group consists of more than 10 people we will create a different tournament structure.
We will always have a nice prize for the winning team!
